What we collect

Smart Home Under is a content site. We don't run accounts, we don't sell anything directly, and we don't require registration to read any page. The data we collect is limited to:

• Analytics data — page views, referral sources, approximate location (country/city), device type, and time on page. This is aggregated and used to understand which content is useful. We use privacy-focused analytics that do not fingerprint individual visitors.
• Email addresses — if you subscribe to our newsletter. Used only to send the newsletter. Never sold or shared with third parties.
• Emails you send us — if you contact us at hello@smarthomeunder.com. Used only to respond to your message.

Cookies

We use minimal cookies. Our analytics provider may set a first-party cookie to distinguish unique visits. We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels from ad networks.

Amazon, as an affiliate partner, may set cookies when you click our affiliate links. Amazon's cookie policy is governed by their own privacy policy at amazon.com/privacy.

Third-party services

• Amazon Associates — affiliate links. Amazon may track clicks and purchases for commission attribution.
• Vercel — hosting. Processes server logs including IP addresses for security and performance monitoring.
• Newsletter provider — if you subscribe, your email is stored with our newsletter provider (Buttondown or equivalent).

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you have the right to:

• Know what personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of newsletter emails at any time (unsubscribe link in every email)
• Request a copy of any data we hold

Data retention

Analytics data is retained for 13 months. Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. Email correspondence is retained for up to 2 years.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We don't send policy-change emails.
